Speaking, enunciation & Accent

Your child's English accent and ability to not only use the correct pronunciation but also enunciation can be crucial to giving them that edge against their peers. Not only does this help with their everyday conversations, but it also helps with their confidence in their English oral communication!

Tongue Twisters!

Tongue twisters are a fabulously fun way to help students understand how to use their tongues correctly in the pronunciation of words. They are commonly used in English schools and have been a success with both my children and my students!

Poetry

Poetry is a beautiful form of the English language and can also be rather fun! Poets such as Spike Milligan and our beloved Roald Dahl have always proved to be a hit with my students. The pace and rhythm of poetry helps the students to understand how to use syllables and emphasis successfully!

Ask, Listen, Talk, repeat

Asking how to pronounce, then listening, then talking about the pronunciation and finally repeating is an effective way to remember the correct way to pronounce. Creating a safe and communicative environment in my classroom allows this process to happen naturally.
